Perched high atop a hill overlooking the world famous Carlsbad Flower Fields in Carlsbad, California is Grand Pacific Palisades, a spectacularly luxurious resort know for it’s breathtaking views of beautiful Pacific sunsets.

The rate card at the front counter showed rooms around $300 per night for a week’s stay in December. Our old Crown Resort member’s price is only $699 - a $2,000 savings, and a $4,000 discount for a two week stay. How can you beat that?

Grand Pacific Palisades has a wonderful Olympic size swimming pool with accompanying hot tub, a grand ballroom, a palacial lobby, and a Karl Strauss Brewery restaurant on the grounds. Legoland is a great place to take the kids for a day or two and it’s literally a three minute drive around the other side of the hill.

The Carlsbad Flower Fields are just amazing when they are in bloom. There are acres upon acres of flowers being grown here and the colors can be dazzling. Unfortunately for me, while I was there they had just replanted for the winter crop.

The view from Grand Pacific Palisades is truly spectacular. This resort is located high up on a hill a couple miles from the Pacific Ocean and Carlsbad State Beach giving a near 180-degree panorama of the water. The sunsets are just amazing from up here.

Here are some photos of Grand Pacific Palisades which I took during my visit there in December.
